In addition to the documents listed under Required Documents for Application, applicants may also be asked to present originals of the following supporting documents at the time of the interview.
If you are traveling to the U.S. on business, you may be asked to present a letter from the U.S. business firm indicating the purpose of the trip, the intended length of your stay, and the firm’s intent to defray costs if applicable. If you are traveling to the U.S. for pleasure, you should be able to explain and document if possible the purpose and length of the trip; the reasons you would return to your country after a short stay such as family, employment and economic ties to the Marshall Islands; and ability to cover the costs of the trip and your stay in the U.S. If you are traveling to the U.S. for medical treatment, you may be asked to present evidence that you will receive treatment in the U.S. (letters from both Marshall Islands and U.S. physicians); evidence from the U.S. facility or physician of the length and cost of the treatment; and evidence that you can pay the costs of the trip, your stay, and the treatment.
Note: Individuals suffering from dangerous contagious diseases as defined by the United States Public Health Service are ineligible to receive visas. In such instances, a waiver of the ineligibility may be sought from the Nonimmigrant Visa Section at the Embassy.
