Political/Economic/Consular Officer Jeff Shelden.

Jeff Shelden joined the State Department in September of 2012 after a 30 year career running his own architectural firm in Lewistown, Montana, where his work took him across the high plains of the Dakotas and the intermountain west of Montana and Wyoming.

In 2013 he assumed his duties as the Political, Economic and Consular officer at Embassy Majuro.  Jeff is married to Lois Shelden, a professional photographer, and has a grown daughter, Claire, living in Denver, Colorado.

Adopting pastimes popular in the ‘Big Sky Country’ of Montana to the ‘Big Sea’ of the equatorial Pacific, Jeff is fishing for snapper instead of walleye, and kayaking instead of skiing.  More than anything, he enjoys the colors, the sights and meeting the people living in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
